Largest LAN party in Hamar
April 2011 – April 2014
The Gathering is Norway’s largest gaming convention, held in Hamar, Vikingskipet.
Over four years I have volunteered to help this event before, during, and after. This consisted of different positions and teams every year.
I have joined the Logistics team, CrewCare, and Graphics team two times.
All teams have duties before the event, some a few months ahead for instance the Graphics team who needs to provide all designs for print and event launch. In both 2013-2014 I helped with the branding of setting up the theme for the event where I designed characters, patterns, icons, silhouettes, and more. These designs will be used for their website, merch, and wallpapers during the event.
There can be a lot of short and tight deadlines, many balls to juggle, and people to take care of or talk to. I am very glad I got to join this event and experience a lot of laughter, tears, sweat, and blood! It’s unimaginable to see how much I have learned, observed, and shared all of these moments with different people.
